How it works

Built around your hours, not ours.

STEP 01: MESSAGE

Tell me what's going on

Email or send a message with roughly what's happening. I read and reply during my hours — Monday and Tuesday evenings, 5 to 8 PM. Plain English is fine; you don't need the technical words.

STEP 02: CONFIRM

Scope and price, up front

Before anything starts, I'll confirm exactly what's involved and what it costs. No call-out mystery, no hourly black hole. If you need to buy any gear, you'll get an exact shopping list first.

STEP 03: SATURDAY VISIT

On-site when it matters

Hands-on jobs book into Saturdays by appointment across Port Lincoln and district: confirmed scope, confirmed price, and everything tested before I leave.

About EP Digital Solutions

Compliance-grade thinking. Kitchen-table delivery.

EP Digital Solutions is built on four-plus years of hands-on ICT support and local government experience, and on one uncomfortable observation from that time: the people and businesses of regional SA face the same scams and cyber threats as the big end of town, with a fraction of the support.

That background shapes how this consultancy works, in a particular order: prevention before repair, configuration before hardware, education before fear. We don't sell equipment, we don't do electrical work, and we don't promise the impossible. We set things up properly, secure what matters, and teach you to spot trouble coming.

The emblem is Port Lincoln's Old Mill, a structure built to endure, standing over the town for generations. That's the standard the work is held to.

And the EP? It stands for Expert & Personal: expert enough for a cyber audit, personal enough for a nan's iPad. (And yes, for the Eyre Peninsula, where it all started.)

Who you'll be dealing with

Scot Thompson

FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT

Being born in Port Lincoln and living my life here, I started EP Digital Solutions because too many people here get sent to Adelaide or nowhere, for help they should be able to get locally and in plain English. I spend my days as a ICT Support officer providing in person support and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps systems running and secure. So whether you're a household, a senior or a small business, you'll be dealing with me directly, not a call centre.

The honest fine print

What we don't do, on purpose.

Do you do emergency or same-day callouts?
No, and I won't pretend to. This is a deliberately part-time, after-hours consultancy: I reply and work during set hours — Monday and Tuesday evenings, and Saturdays by appointment. Remote support is coming soon. If you're mid-emergency with money involved: bank first, then the ACSC on 1300 292 371, then me for the clean-up.
Do you sell computers, cameras or smart home gear?
No. You buy your own gear; we send an exact shopping list first (product, model, local supplier where possible), then configure and integrate it. You get retail warranty on the hardware and independent advice from us, because we make nothing on the box.
Do you run cables or install antennas?
No. Cabling, electrical and roof work belong to licensed trades, and we'll refer you to good local ones. We handle everything from the wall socket onward: configuration, security, integration.
Can you fix my computer under warranty?
In-warranty repairs belong with the retailer or manufacturer, and we'll point you to the right local counter. We pick up where warranties don't: setup, security, networks, data and advice.
Will you guarantee I can't be scammed or hacked?
No one can, and anyone who promises that is selling something. Good security reduces risk dramatically, but never to zero. What we guarantee is honest work: proper configuration, real protections, and straight answers.
